Dawn

Dawn

Dawn was born and raised in Sidney, Ohio where she began her “career”  in veterinary medicine, while in high school, working as a receptionist and assistant at a mixed animal practice. She entered tech school at Columbus State Community College after the doctor at that practice encouraged her to attend. She graduated in 1993 with an Associate Degree in Applied Science in Veterinary Technology.

She began working at Bigger Road Veterinary Clinic in 1997 and loves the constantly changing and challenging field of Veterinary Medicine and enjoys the never-ending learning cycle of the progressive medicine practiced at BRVC. Outside of work she stays busy as a wife and a mom to 2 teenagers and a handful of furry “kids”. In 2020 she became the Practice Manager, following three years as Operations Lead supporting the previous Practice Manager.

Jesse Dorland

Jesse Dorland

Jesse Dorland is the Business Manager at Bigger Road Veterinary Clinic. He joined the team in 2013, after 9 years with PetSmart in a variety of management roles. He is lucky to be working alongside the expert and compassionate staff at Bigger Road.

At home with Jesse is Guinness, a Boston Terrier mix; two cats, Jeffrey and Apollo – both rescued with the help of Bigger Road; and an adopted bearded dragon lizard named Goliath. Jesse’s interests include pet care and nutrition, running, and web development. He is also a freelance Sign Language Interpreter.

Beth

Beth

Beth was a customer service representative for over 13 years here at Bigger Road. She is now the Administrative Assistant for the practice. She lives with her 2 children and her two Beagles; Larry and Daisy. Beth joined the Bigger Road family while attending Sinclair for Business Administration. She enjoys reading, volunteering at her children’s schools and spending time with her family.

Stacie

Stacie

Stacie was born and raised in Ohio. She graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor’s in public health but always wanted a job working with animals. She started working at Bigger Road in 2004 as a client service representative. Her role at Bigger Road has evolved and she now splits her time as the Inventory Coordinator, managing employee scheduling, and occasionally working at the front desk for both of our offices.

Ashley

Ashley

Ashley has worked at Bigger Road Veterinary Clinic since 2004, before that she worked at a local kennel and volunteered at SICSA. She thoroughly enjoys her work and loves working with people she considers her friends.  She started as a Veterinary Assistant and worked in various positions before settling as a Client Service Representative. Ashley is now the Client Service Team Lead.

She shares her home with two dogs and one cat. In her spare time, she enjoys being outside and spending time with her family and friends.

Emily

Emily was raised in Beavercreek and resides in Greene County with her husband and two children. She earned her degree in veterinary technology in 1988 and has been a technician with Bigger Road since 1993.  Emily finds all areas of veterinary medicine valuable but behavior work and developing our Fear Free initiative are the most meaningful to her.  “Your pet’s physical and emotional comfort is what is most important to me.”

Jennifer

Jennifer

Jennifer was born and raised in Germantown, OH. She explored the State of Kentucky while attending the Vet Tech Program at Morehead State University. Jen joined the Bigger Road Family in May 2005. Since then, she has been involved in various projects and programs. Jen enjoys the continuous learning in the Veterinary field. Jen has a Pitbull named Harley, a Lab named Maggie and a cat named Hermione. Jen enjoys spending her free time with her family and friends.

Angie

Angie

Angie joined Bigger Road in 2006, she has a total of 28 years of experience in the veterinary field.  She lives with 6 dogs, 10 cats, 2 rabbits, and a bird. In her spare, time she likes to go boating, Zumba fitness, 5k runs, and chilling out on the couch with her 4-legged kids. She also likes to travel anywhere that is tropical.

Sarah

Sarah

Sarah earned her veterinary technology degree from Miami Jacobs Career College in 2012. She did her externship work in zoo medicine, then joined the Bigger Road family in 2013. Her main interests are alternative medicine and nutrition. She and her husband, Kevin, live in Springboro with their two children, Violet and Maxwell, and their two cats, Cowboy, and Bebop.

Jessie

Jessie

Jessie was born in the wonderful state of Oregon. She moved to Ohio when she was 7 years old and spent most of her childhood outside, catching tadpoles and climbing trees. In High school she went to MVCTC for Environmental Sciences, learning how to track wildlife, identify trees, and raise fish in a farm setting. After high school, she went to Sinclair Community College to earn a Certificate as an EMT-B and as a Nurses Aide. She worked for a couple of years in both fields before going back to school for her true love, Veterinary Science. While working toward her Associates in Veterinary Technology, she was hired on at Bigger Road Veterinary Clinic as an Assistant. She graduated in 2015, staying on at Bigger Road as a Technician. When not working, she enjoys hiking with her dogs, gardening, reading a good book, and learning new things.

Erica

Erica

Erica graduated from Sanford Brown Institute of Fort Lauderdale, FL as a veterinary technician. In January 2013 she started her career in a one-doctor practice and after 2.5 years ended up at Bigger Road Vet Clinic. She has been here since June 2015. Spencer is her eldest fur baby at 7 years old; He is a cocker spaniel and is lucky to be so cute. Tink is her 2nd fur baby at 4 years old; She is a pitbull/husky mix and is the sweetest, most obedient girl you could meet. Get a ball involved with these two and the game is over. Ducky is the final fur baby and only cat in the household, although, you couldn’t tell that she was of a different species. She was adopted February of 2016 as a feline leukemia positive cat. Luckily after a few months of blood tests, it turned out that she is currently not feline leukemia positive, she’s just a nice healthy cat. Feline leukemia could still be present but hiding in the bone marrow for months to years.

Sarah

Sarah

Sarah grew up in northwest Indiana. She obtained a bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Purdue University in 2008. After school, she volunteered at the Indianapolis and Cincinnati zoos. She moved to the Dayton area with her husband in 2009. After working as a veterinary assistant for a few years, she decided she wanted more responsibility and obtained her Veterinary Technology degree from the University of Cincinnati in 2017. She currently lives in Dayton with her husband and 2 dogs.

Lily

Lily

Lily was born in Lima, Ohio but grew up in Troy. She graduated with an associate’s degree in Veterinary Technology from Miami-Jacobs in 2014. She really enjoyed college and furthering her knowledge in the medical field.  She moved to Dayton to obtain her Nursing degree at Sinclair.  She has a cat named Maui and an English Mastiff named Caliber. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, canoeing, and going to new places.

Laurie

Laurie

Laurie lives in Trotwood, Ohio with her cats and Labrador Retriever, two beautiful children, and long-time boyfriend. She grew up in a house that always had cats and the occasional dog and knew from a young age that her love for animals would lead her to a fulfilling career caring for them. She started working at a horse show barn when she was 15 with her brother who was a trainer and her sister in law who was in charge of the breeding, foal care, and all medical needs of the horses. From there she worked in a boarding kennel, then as a veterinary assistant while going to the JVS and graduating from the Animal Production and Care Class in Montgomery County. She then moved on to Morehead State University in Kentucky and graduated from the Veterinary Technology Program in 2000. After college, she has worked at different clinics specializing in a variety of small animals and exotics. She has honed her skills in multiple areas of veterinary medicine from surgery, to lab, to rehab, to nursing the sick, and helping to keep her patients happy and healthy. She willingly shares her love and compassion to all she comes into contact with animal and human! Laurie enjoys the continual learning and challenges that veterinary medicine provides and embraces the huge advancements in technology and care that this field continues to offer every day.

Melissa

Melissa

Melissa joined Bigger Road Veterinary Clinic in March 2018. She earned her degree and license to practice as a Registered Veterinary Technician in July 2010. Before joining us she worked as an RVT for 7 years in Wilmington Ohio. Her free time is spent with her husband; Charles, their daughter; Evelyn, and their many animals. Her passions are inpatient care, client education, feline medicine, and cytology.

Kelli

Kelli was raised in small-town Carlisle, Ohio. She decided when she was very young she only wanted to work with animals. She likes animals more than people. She got her bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Technology from Morehead State University Kentucky in 2018. She became an RVT in August 2018, started at Bigger in September 2018. She has two cats, Gidget the black one and Brink the gray and white one.

Katelyn

Katelyn

Katelyn was raised in Lancaster County Pennsylvania. Her passion for animals drove her to earn her associate’s degree at the Vet Tech Institute in Pittsburgh, PA in 2014. Following graduation, she began her career as a CVT in a progressive 7 doctor practice, where she has worked for the first 5 years of her career. She has since married her husband, Hunter, and his career has brought them to Dayton, OH. Katelyn was very excited to be joining the team at Bigger Road in 2019; continuing her passion for patient care, anesthesia, and surgery. During her free time she enjoys running, hiking, gardening, antiquing, and exploring new places with her husband. Together they have 4 black cats Lilly, Beans, Momma, and DJ.

Chris

Chris has lived in the Dayton area most of her life with the exception of a year of high school in Florida and the first year of married life in Cincinnati. She absolutely loves working with animals and has been a Client Service Representative for 31 years and counting. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with her two daughters, two grandsons, one granddaughter, and traveling with her husband. She shares her home with a dog named Jasper, and two cats, Megumi, and Kaito. Chris hopes to one day live half of the year in a log cabin in Montana and the other half on a beach (to be determined later).

Jamy

Jamy

Jamy grew up in Bellbrook, OH. She has been a client services representative here for over 5 years. She has a Golden Retriever named Ivy. She loves greeting all of the pets and being a familiar face when clients walk through the door. She has an associate’s degree and a special interest in interior design and she enjoys doing DIY projects in her spare time. On a nice day, you might find her hiking at Sugarcreek Reserve.

Yvonne

Yvonne

Yvonne entered the medical field as a Dental Assistant but her passion for animals led her to the Veterinary field. Before moving to Ohio in 2015 she lived in Oklahoma, working as a Veterinary Assistant for three years. Yvonne grew up as a NAVY brat and has lived in various states. She moved to Ohio to be closer to her sister, who is in the Air Force, and her two young nieces. Yvonne currently works as a client service representative and is attending college to attain her Associates of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology. She ultimately wants to work as a Veterinary Technician. She is passionate and enthusiastic about working out, lifting weights, and eating clean. If she’s not working you will find her training at the gym. Yvonne shares her home with her daughter, and her two cats; one “Boyfriend”, is a 13-year-old brown Tabby, and his sister, “Drama”, a 13-year-old Tortoiseshell.

Allison

Allison

Allison was born and raised in Kettering, Ohio. She pursued an associate’s degree in Science towards Chemical Engineering, but her love for animals drew her into the veterinary field. Allison has been a veterinary assistant for over 3 years and is now also a Client Service Representative. She has one cat named Odysseus who she rescued from the great outdoors 3 years ago. Allison can be found on her days off doing anything Harry Potter related, seeing movies, playing video games, board games, or doing any of the above with friends.

Lauren

Lauren

Lauren was raised in Charleston, SC and obtained her Psychology degree from Clemson University. She recently relocated here from Florida and loves the area. Since childhood, Lauren has always had a passion for animals and decided after college that that was the field she wanted to work in, which brought her to Bigger Road.  Outside of work she enjoys spending time with her husband, two boys, and 7 animals: 4 bunnies and 3 cats.

Shannon

Shannon was born and raised in Kettering, OH. She has worked in the veterinary field for over 15 years. She Joined the Bigger Road family in 2005. She has a special interest in patient care and works hard to make sure all of our patients have the most comfortable, fear-free, visit possible. She has a German Shepherd named Ellie and a Catahoula Mix named Sarge. Shannon enjoys spending her free time at home with her dogs.

Jennifer

Jennifer

Jennifer was born in Xenia, Ohio. She has worked for Bigger Road for over 3 years. She enjoys her position in the clinic because of the hands on work she does with the animals. She graduated from veterinary technician school in 2012 but decided to become an assistant instead; to work with animals and be their voice. She has 3 cats; Jasper, Oreo, and Shadow. In her spare time, she enjoys baking and spending time with her family.

Susan

Susan

Susan has been with Bigger Road for 7 years as a Veterinary assistant. She enjoys the personal time with each animal that comes through the door. She spends a lot of time at home watching Netflix.

Graham

Graham

Graham was born in Spokane, WA, and has lived in the Springboro/Centerville area for 12 years. He started working with animals in 2016 at a dog kennel and has worked at Bigger Road as an assistant since September 2017. Before that, he went to Otterbein University to study music for two years and returned home to explore other career options. He spends most of his free time watching movies or reading/writing and usually does so in the company of one of his dogs: Luna and Newton.

Shanice

Shanice

Shanice was born in the US Virgin Islands and raised in the British Virgin Islands. She moved to Ohio when she was 10, so her mom could be closer to her 3 other sisters. She has 2 cats named Elaina and Gracie. At the age of 14, she started volunteering at SICSA; ever since then, she’s been shadowing and volunteering at animal facilities. She’s always had a love for animals since she was little and knew she wanted to become a Vet Tech since she was little. She currently attends Sinclair Community college and is taking classes to be enrolled in the Vet Tech program. In her free time, she loves to travel, go to concerts, and read.

Saquoiah

Saquoiah

Saquoiah is a Veterinary Assistant. She grew up in Dayton, Ohio. She is studying at Sinclair Community College to become a tech and plans to continue education studying zoology. Loves to travel, enjoys skydiving, going to racing events and of course, loves her 2 fur babies, Teddy and Chester.

Isaiah has two cats and three dogs. He loves all of them dearly! He also loves music, singing, playing piano, video games, and his family. He enjoys working in the Kennel because of all of the different pets he gets to see and meet.

Erin

Erin

Erin grew up in Tipp City, OH. She graduated from Wright State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Earth and Environmental Sciences in 2012. After a few years of searching for the right job, she decided to go with what her heart truly wanted and joined the Bigger Road Day Care Staff in 2015. Her favorite part of her job is seeing the joy the dogs have when they show up and when they train. She lives with her husband, Justin, and daughter, Caydence. Together they have a boxer/husky mix named Frankie, a Siberian husky named Zodiac, and 2 silver and grey shorthairs named Triton and Charlie.

Jess started grooming in 2008 because she loves animals. She started grooming here at Bigger Road in 2015. She wanted to do something that made pets look and feel good. She loves grooming so much there’s nothing she’d rather do. She enjoys meeting different pets, learning their personalities, and spending one on one time in the salon with them.
